New team member: Dr. Joe Jawad Khawaja

We are happy to announce that Jawad Khawaja (Dr Joe) is the new Commercial Director of Wyreside Products Ltd. (Herbonis daughter company in the UK) and the future Managing Director and successor of John Whitehead. Dr Joe joined the team on 1st of April 2021.

After receiving a degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2000, a Master of Philosophy in Microbiology in 2004, he decided to set up his career path as Poultry Veterinarian in Pakistan. His area of specialisation was ‘Avian Influenza Viruses’. Later, in 2010, he completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in branding.

Through a series of progressions, he held several different positions in grandparents (GP), Poultry Broiler & Layer Breeders, commercial layers and Animal Nutrition sectors across UK, Ireland, Middle East and Asia.

Joe gained his leadership abilities, breeding & nutrition knowledge through more than two decades with various companies (Aviagen Distributor, Cobb Arabia, Novus, Hyline, Hendrix Genetics and Vetagro). Dr Joe will be a familiar face to many egg producers in the United Kingdom as he was a founding member of the Severn Valley Discussion Group in Wales (UK). He has been the elected chairman of the group for more than five years.

In his spare time Joe enjoys the deep-sea fishing and walking in the nature.
